A bad economy is impacting North Bay's Nipissing University.
The school is forecasting a $4 million deficit for 2009-2010 as a result of increasing operating costs, a projected modest enrolment decline and overall impact of government revenue, endowments and reserve investments.
The university plans to cut its deficit over the next two years through budget cuts to reduce the deficit to $1.5 million in 2009-2010 and additional cuts are expected the following year.
