BacTech Mining Corporation (TSX-V:BM) has signed a deal with Cobalt-based Blackstone Development Inc. to access the company's tailings inventory in the area.
Blackstone's claim package cover the majority of the Cobalt camp, including more than 50 past-producing mines, with an estimated eight to 10 million tonnes of tailings.
BacTech, which has been eyeing the construction of a demonstration plant in Cobalt to recover silver from tailings, will undertake a field program to determine the potential grades of metal left in the tailings to identify potential production candidates.
BacTech will focus on the Blackstone tailings going forward, as testwork performed on the Castle Mine tailings near Gowganda, 100 kilometres from Cobalt, was unable to duplicate the reported metal content quoted by Gold Bullion Development Corp.
