Nine Austrian clean-technology companies arrived in North Bay on Sept. 28 for a special networking event to engage municipal and business leaders.

Organized by Jay Aspin, a private trade consultant, and Austrian Consulate Commissioner Robert Luck, the one-day event at the Hampton Inn is designed to help these multi-national companies strike business relationships and spur regional investment in renewable energy.

“The event has been very well received as 25 municipalities throughout northeastern Ontario have registered to participate in the event,” said Aspin. Area municipal and business representatives will be meeting with these Austrian companies in private meetings scheduled throughout the day.

The visiting companies have expertise in biomass boiler systems, biodiesel plant construction, geothermal energy, solar modules, turn-key heating plants and waste-exhaust gas cleaning technology.
