Having received a technical report for the McGarry site, 40 kilometres east of Kirkland Lake, Armistice officials have announced their intention to move the gold project towards production.
Prepared by Hamilton-based Python Mining Consultants, the report says McGarry could generate 350 tons of material per day, with the potential to increase to 600 tons per day. This would provide the project with a 4.5-year mine life.
The activity would take place between the 1,250 and 2,250 levels of the mine.
The report also updates the mineral resource estimate, which now includes 492,000 tons in the indicated category, with 123,000 ounces of gold. The inferred mineral resource includes 172,000 tons, with 30,000 ounces of gold.
A year's worth of development mining at the McGarry site has led Armistice officials to assume that metallurgical recoveries could reach 85 per cent. Following a year of production, it's also expected that revenues from custom milling would result in enough income to cover ongoing costs.
