Following the death of former Wallbridge CEO and chair Risto Laamanen July 7, the company has appointed president Alar Soever to the top spot.
Soever, who's served as president since 2003, has 30 years of experience in the mineral exploration industry, and was previously responsible for the copper-nickel-PGE for Watts, Griffis & McOuat Ltd.
Warren Holmes, a director of Wallbridge since 2002, has been appointed as chairman.
Holmes also served as senior vice-president of Canadian mining operations with Falconbridge Limited, where he worked from 1986 to 2002. He also worked with Noranda Inc. from 1964 to 1986.
He has also served as the president of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum, chairman of the Ontario Mining Association, and co-chair of the Ontario Mineral Industry Cluster Council.
