Future mineral industry geologists can get a primer course on how to conduct exploration on First Nation traditional lands at Laurentian University in Sudbury, Feb. 7.
The full-day Saturday workshop for university geology and earth science undergrads will be held at the Willet Green Miller Centre auditorium from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event, aimed at being non-confrontational, is hosted by the university's Mineral Exploration Research Centre.
At the workshop, entitled First Nation Issues and Exploration: Two Side of the Coin, attendees will hear from experts about the main concerns of First Nation peoples, from industry and government.
The workshop is free for all students. Registration for non-students from industry, government and academia is $200.
