STRIVE: Young Professionals Group is
launching its Local Leader Series, a series of lectures intended to
provide young people an opportunity to engage with top professionals
in Sault Ste. Marie and learn how they achieved their success.
“The Local Leaders Series is a great
way to learn from inspiring members of our community who have
positively impacted Sault Ste. Marie,” Paul Skeggs, chair of the
STRIVE executive, said in a news release. “Rather than a lecture,
the intent is for young professionals to have meaningful
conversations with local leaders over coffee or tea and snacks.”
Susan Hunter, director of external
relations at Sault College, will be featured as STRIVE’s first
presenter. She will speak at the Art Gallery of Algoma on March 6,
from 6:30 p.m. until 9 p.m.
Admission for the event is $5 for
STRIVE members and $10 for non-members, and will include light
appetizers and refreshments, and access to the Men and Nature exhibit
on display. STRIVE encourages those wishing to attend to pre-register
for the event.
STRIVE aims to assist young
professionals between the ages of 19 and 40 who are seeking
professional development initiatives, networking opportunities,
community interaction, and creating opportunities for recognition.
To register for the event, contact the
Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce at 705-949-7152, or email at
