CIS Ionic Mining Systems, the joint
venture company formed by Carrier Industrial Supply (CIS) and Ionic Engineering, has been formally rebranded as Variant Mining
Technologies.
Variant Mining Technologies
manufactures mining material handling solutions for the world’s
leading mining operations. The customer list includes Vale, Xstrata,
Kirkland Lake Gold, Aurico, Lac Des Isles and DeBeers. The company
has been in operation for seven years and has facilities in
Chelmsford, just outside of Sudbury. The product line includes a
range of chutes, arc gates as well as measuring boxes and vibratory
feeding systems.
The rebranding was a result of the
company’s growth in the marketplace. Its ability to stand alone as
an entity is a result of the company’s reputation of exceeding
customers’ expectations and innovative designs. The company also
specializes in engineering and manufacturing customized solutions to
meet customer requirements.
"We are delighted to have our own
identity,” said Ryan Karns, operations manager of Variant, in a
news release. “We look forward to building our brand to create a
leading Canadian mining material handling technology company. I am
very proud of our success and the exceptional value proposition we
have created for our customers."
