A Sudbury-based Vale executive has lost
his position due to restructuring.
John Pollesel will no longer serve as
the director of Vale’s Base Metals division for North Atlantic
operations. The company is currently undergoing a business-wide
review to “position the miner for long-term success and
sustainability,” according to a news release.
As part of the process, Vale is
building a new organizational model that will install site-specific
leads at each of its Canadian operating sites, and they will report
directly to the global headquarters for Base Metals in Toronto, the
release noted.
As a result, Pollesel’s role is no
longer required.
“John Pollesel
played a pivotal role in developing our Canadian and U.K. operations,
and we wish him the best of luck in his future endeavours,” the
company stated.
