Cast Resource Equipment Ltd. and Mining Technologies International have teamed up to create a shotcrete sprayer that will be used to seal and reinforce mine shaft walls, helping to protect the health and safety of underground workers.

The province is providing $100,000 to Cast Resource through its Emerging Technology Program to help develop the product. It’s estimated five new jobs will be created through the initiative.

"Sudbury is a world leader in the mining supply and services sector,” Northern Development Minister Rick Bartolucci said in a news release. “By funding businesses that focus on tapping into emerging technologies, our government is creating jobs and investing in a prosperous future for all Sudburians.”
