The 30th annual Northwestern Ontario
Regional Conference is set for Sept. 27-28 at the Victoria Inn in
Thunder Bay.
The event, which dovetails on the
Prosperity Northwest conference, will attract municipal leaders,
business representatives and economic development officials from
across the region.
The event is co-hosted by the
Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association, the Northwestern Ontario Associated Chambers of Commerce, the Northwestern Ontario Development Network, and Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing.
This year's theme, “Ready to Grow,”
focuses on where the northwest stands in its preparations for coming
mine developments.
Schedule speakers and topics will
revolve around opportunities and challenges in the mining industry
and workforce planning.
Nishnawbe Aski Nation Grand Chief
Harvey Yesno and Keith McCullough of Hedgeye Risk Management are
among the speakers who will share their views.
