Mine Source, an online service that auctions off used equipment for mining companies, has expanded, adding additional companies to its client list.

The auction house launched its auction service last year, with Vale as its exclusive client. The company now services a range of junior, mid-tier and major mining companies, as well as mining contractors. Redpath and Agnico-Eagle are two companies currently running auctions on the site.

“Mine Source makes use of its decades’ worth of mining knowledge and contacts to market solely to the mining industry,” partner Matt Alexander said in a news release. “Other online auctions mix a few pieces of mining-related items amongst a multitude of other listings. Ours is the only online auction to exclusively serve mining.”

Alexander said companies use the service because it accounts for a company’s assets, the system is easy to navigate, and the items are accessible to everyone.
