Montefiore Films has received
provincial funding to shoot Cas & Dylan in Sudbury.
The film, featuring Richard Dreyfuss
and directed by Jason Priestly, received $644,058 from the Northern
Ontario Heritage Fund Corp. The production is creating around 50 jobs
for local residents working as extras, crew and production staff.
"By investing in film and
television projects in Sudbury and Northern Ontario, our government
is creating local jobs and helping more northerners build careers and
develop skills and experience in the industry,” said Rick
Bartolucci, minister of Northern Development and Mines and chair of
the NOHFC, in a news release.
The film is one of several productions
that have been filmed in and around Sudbury in recent months.
Film and television productions
contribute almost $2 billion annually to Ontario’s economy and
supports over 23,000 direct and indirect jobs.
