First-year
undergrads at Nipissing University's School of Business in North Bay
are receiving complimentary iPads.
“We
are proud to be taking a leadership role in the use of mobile
technology in post-secondary education,” said Rick Vanderlee, dean
of faculty of applied and professional studies.”
In a
Sept. 7 release, the university said students can read electronic
textbooks, take lecture notes and complete tests electronically,
which will cut the costs of books and supplies, and reduces paper
usage.
How
the iPads will be used in class will be at the discretion of
individual professors.
