Kirkland Lake's Armistice Resources
reports it has started the shipment and sale of gold concentrate from
its McGarry Mine.
President Todd Morgan said it's an
“exciting milestone” for the company's first operating mine.
“The initial shipment of 35 tons of
concentrate from the mill in Cobalt, Ontario to the smelter also
marks Armistice's first generation of revenue and operating cash
flow.”
The company is approaching production
of 200 tons per day from the mine to the Cobalt mill, and is working
to boost that to 350 to 400 tons by 2013.
Armistice has an underground stockpile
of 3,500 tons of broken ore that's available for shipment.
The McGarry Mine is located in
Virginiatown near the Quebec border and is adjacent to the
Kerr-Addison Gold Mine that produced more than 11 million ounces of
gold.
