This month, the Northern Centre for Advanced Technology (NORCAT) in Sudbury will host a seminar to
address challenges for entrepreneurs in the city.
The event, entitled Startup Sudbury,
will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 26, from 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at
the Days Inn in downtown Sudbury. The event is free of charge, but
interested participants are asked to register ahead of time.
Topics to be addressed include
attracting and retaining staff; making the move from home-based
business to store front; overcoming prejudice in business; tapping
into global markets; accessing funding and investments, and
overcoming financial hurdles; and creating an entrepreneurial
community.
The event is part of a greater program,
Startup Canada, designed to enhance Canada’s competitiveness and
prosperity by supporting and celebrating Canadian entrepreneurship.
Events are being held across the country from March to September to
glean input and ideas from entrepreneurs in participating
communities.
Organizers hope to identify the top
challenges facing Canadian entrepreneurs and create a collective
vision and strategy for future growth.
