Ontario Summer Jobs Service Opens To Northern Employers

Applications from employers under the 2010 Ontario Summer Jobs Service are now being accepted by the Ministry of Northern Development, Mines and Forestry.

Employers are encouraged to hire students through a $2-per-hour incentive.

Ontario's summer jobs programs and services are open to students aged 15 to 30 years who are planning to return to school this fall.

This year, employers can complete and submit their applications online by visiting the ministry’s website and following the instructions provided, or download the application form and deliver a completed, hardcopy by fax, mail, or in person to their nearest Ministry of Northern Development, Mines and Forestry office. Applications close April 30.

Through Employment Ontario's Summer Jobs website, students can:

• Find job listings
• Get help to improve their marketing skills and resumé writing
• Learn how to start their own Summer Company
• Apply for summer jobs with the Ontario Government.
