March 2, 2010

Several East Nipissing communities are highlighting local business opportunities for potential investors.

Through the support of the Northern Communities Investment Readiness Program (NCIR) the Mattawa-Bonfield Economic Development Corporation is:

undertaking an asset inventory of the Tembec sawmill property it recently acquired.

developing a strategy to market the former sawmill and the 55-hectare site as a turn-key manufacturing facility or multi-enterprise industrial park to potential tenants.

developing a regional profile that will help market the advantages of the region to potential investors.

In addition, the Municipality of Powassan will use NCIR support to attract new investment by completing its profile on the Invest In Ontario website and conducting an industrial and commercial land inventory.
