McGuinty Government Helps Communities Promote Economic Opportunities

Kapuskasing and other local communities are working together to attract new investment that will promote economic development and job creation.

Through the support of the Northern Communities Investment Readiness Program (NCIR) the Kapuskasing Economic Development Corporation (KEDC) is:

Producing a comprehensive inventory of community assets; 

Purchasing a digital high resolution aerial image of the Kapuskasing area that identifies local infrastructure;

Creating a community data sheet for distribution to enquiring investors;
Partners in these initiatives are the Town of Kapuskasing, Moonbeam Economic Development Corporation, Township of Val Rita - Harty, and the North Claybelt Development Futures Development Corporation.

QUICK FACTS

The province is providing $63,750 through the NCIR program to support these projects.

To date, more than 1.9 million in NCIR funding has been approved for more than 200 initiatives across the North.
