Xstrata Nickel doles out $1 million to NORCAT's new centre

The final portion of funding for the Northern Centre for Advanced Technology's (NORCAT) new Innovation and Commercialization Park has officially rolled in thanks to a $1 million contribution from Xstrata Nickel.

There is now sufficient funding to complete construction of the Park, which is expected to wrap up by November 15.

Work has already begun on the above-ground portion of the facility.

The 60,000-square-foot Park will act as a multi-purpose site, serving as an incubation site for small and medium-sized companies looking to develop new technology, products and processes.  The project will also allow for these firms to access a range of support components, including business advice, technological assistance, as well as space for retail, shop and storage.
