Timmins will host the 41st annual Canadian Land Reclamation Association (CLRA) conference on June 26-29 at the McIntyre Coffee Shop and Arena.

The conference will showcase two days of technical presentations and posters, short courses, a tradeshow, reclamation and student award presentations, and local field trips.

There will be a particular focus on the history and reclamation issues and achievements of the Timmins/Porcupine area, which has experienced more than 100 years of mining. Participants can take part in a field trip to visit reclamation project sites in Timmins on June 29.

The city last hosted the conference in 2009. Past Northern Ontario host cities include Kirkland Lake (2008), Elliot Lake (2010), Sudbury (2011), Thunder Bay (2012), Cobalt (2013), and Marathon (2015).
