Abitibi-Consolidated Ltd.'s Kenora mill is preparing a temporary shutdown in December.

The company has decided to shutdown the mill for a period of two to four weeks as part of an inventory control program, company officials say.

Workers at the Kenora mill already faced a shutdown earlier this year when operations ceased for three months.

The mill is slated to shut down in the second week of December. Nearly 400 employees will be affected.
