The firm took home a regional merit award in the communications category for an urban design concept: Designing Thunder Bay’s Image Routes – An Innovative Approach to Large-Scale Street Redevelopment.

The study establishes guiding principles and best practices that apply generally across the city. The study also focuses on the preparation of detailed streetscape guidelines for routes including Red River Road, Arthur Street, and May/Memorial/Algoma Streets.
This study will assist developers, architects and professional planners in making informed decisions when developing site plan applications.

The Toronto-based design firm opened a Thunder Bay office in 2010 after completing work involving the city’s north end waterfront redevelopment, Prince Arthur’s Landing. That project has garnered ten national and international design excellence awards.
