Some of Sudbury's most outstanding citizens were honoured on March 3 at the 13th annual Community Builders Awards of Excellence.
The sold-out gala was
held at the Caruso Club and hosted by Northern Life and Northern
Ontario Business publisher Abbas Homayed.
A total of nine awards
were handed out on the evening for everything from arts to education
to sports and recreation.
“We are so lucky at Northern Life, not
only do we tell your stories, once a year we get to experience the
true greatness of Greater Sudbury through the Community Builders
Awards of Excellence,” said Michael Atkins, president of both
publications.
The winners are as follows:
Arts – Theatre du Nouvel-Ontario
Economic Development – Lopes Ltd.
Education – Denise Fraser
Environment – Wayne Hugli
Health Care – St. Joseph's Health Centre
Legacy – Dr. Fred W. Sheridan
Sports and Recreation – Gerry Fortin and Christian Fortin
Young Leader – Christopher McCormick
Hall of Fame – Rick Bartolucci
