Budding Northern Ontario entrepreneurs will have an opportunity to pitch their business ideas for a chance to appear on the TV show Dragons’ Den during auditions in Sudbury later this month.

Auditions will be held on Saturday, Feb. 20 at the Best Western hotel in downtown Sudbury. It is the only Northern Ontario stop on the 33-city tour across the country.

Dragons’ Den gives aspiring entrepreneurs an audience with some of the country’s top financiers, and an opportunity to earn an investment in their business.

Northern Ontario businesspeople who’ve successfully made an appearance on the show include Margot Woodworth of Evergreen Memories in Dryden, Alicia Wood of Covergalls in Sudbury, and Jamie Draves of Katan Kitchens in Cochrane.

Participants of all ages, with businesses at any stage of development, are welcome to audition for the show. Aspiring entrepreneurs will be expected to pitch their concept to the Dragons’ Den producers in five minutes or less. If successful, they could be invited to Toronto to face the “Dragons.”
