The Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre has launched the Business Accelerator Series, a sequence of workshops aimed at helping business owners and entrepreneurs at various stages of their ventures.
The series kicks off on Oct. 9 with The Business Model: Revisited and Reinvented, featuring guest speakers Jane Gertner, of Strategic Mentor Group and executive in residence at VentureLab, and Paul Rivett, director of client services at VentureLab.
A business model explains how a company (at any stage) finds and serves customers profitably. The Business Model Canvas is a useful tool for designing, reviewing, and presenting business models. A new business model is only a theory. It needs to be validated and modified with customer and market feedback.
Future installments of the series will include Sales and Marketing for Technology SMEs on Nov. 4 and Going Global and Building Strategic Partnerships on Jan. 21.
