Twenty-one companies from northern communities will be part of the Northern Ontario Innovation Pavilion at the Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE) Discovery Conference to be held in Toronto, May 27th to 28th, 2013.

With $117,500 in FedNor funding provided through the Northern Ontario Development Program, the Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre will provide the venue for attending companies, both small and medium-sized enterprises and researchers from across Northern Ontario, to showcase their cutting-edge technology and research at Canada’s leading innovation-to-commercialization conference.

SSMIC worked with colleagues in Sudbury (NORCAT), North Bay (iiON), Thunder Bay (NWO InnovationCentre) and Timmins (Northern College) in selecting interested companies and compiling a list of participants for the conference.

“The Northern Ontario Pavilion provides an opportunity to showcase some of the great emerging companies and researchers in our region,” said Tom Vair, executive director of SSMIC. “We greatly appreciate FedNor’s support of this worthwhile initiative and look forward to the positive business results for participants as a result of their attendance.”
