A North Bay software company is getting $500,000 from FedNor to develop new software and expand its operation.

A North Bay software company is getting $500,000 from FedNor to develop new software and expand its operation.

The “fully repayable FedNor contribution” will enable Funding Matters Inc to partner with Canadore College to work on developing software for the charitable financing industry and related online and mobile education.

Jay Aspin, MP for Nipissing–Timiskaming, made the announcement in North Bay, Oct. 24.

Specifically, the money goes toward hiring project team to enhance the organization’s Giftabulator app, as well as develop new software, tools and client support mechanisms.

The FedNor news release said 10 jobs will created and the company will expand its North Bay operations with an R & D presence and marketing office.

“We are very excited to partner with FedNor and the Government of Canada to expand our North Bay operations and enhance our product offerings,” said William Petruck, president of Funding Matters Inc. “Today’s announcement will help us grow our business, create jobs, expand into new markets and continue to deliver innovative services to our clients.”

 “We are investing in high-quality jobs for Nipissing-Timiskaming,” said MP Aspin. “The funding announced today will help attract private sector investment to the region and create opportunities for new advancements in the growing field of online and mobile software.”
