The Purvis Bros. , a fishery based on Manitoulin Island, is getting money to expand aquaculture in Northern Ontario by one millions pounds per year through the purchase and installation of new equipment.

The Purvis Bros., a fishery based on Manitoulin Island, is getting money to expand aquaculture in Northern Ontario by one millions pounds per year through the purchase and installation of new equipment.

The commercial fishery, which has had operations in Lake Huron since the 1880s, sells whitefish, lake trout, herring and sturgeon from its plant in the town of Silver Water.

The province is allotting $28,350 for the investment, which comes from the Local Food Fund.
