A fledgling White River-area gold miner has started shipping ore to Barrick Gold’s Hemlo mill for processing.

The shipments are from Harte Gold’s 70,000-tonne advanced exploration bulk sample at its Sugar Zone property in northwestern Ontario.

The miner has also retained Crone Geophysics and Exploration to conduct a deep geophysical survey to be followed by a 5,000-metre drill program. The survey will test for the continuity of gold mineralization over a two-kilometre distance between the Sugar Zone deposit and the company’s Wolf Zone.

"A very significant milestone has been reached with the commencement of bulk sample ore shipments to Barrick's Hemlo Mill," said president-CEO Stephen Roman, in an April 14 statement.

"We're extremely pleased to have attained this milestone and anticipate receiving our first bulk sample revenue in May 2016.”

The survey and drill program, he said, provides an “excellent opportunity” to increase their gold reserves. “We believe there is strong potential for the two areas to be connected," said Mr. Roman.
