Miners at Glencore’s operations in Sudbury were scheduled to return to work at the Nickel Rim South Mine following the death of a worker underground this week.
Operations were halted Oct. 20 when a worker identified as Richard Pigeau was struck by a piece of equipment at the 1660-metre level. No other details are known.
Two inspectors from the Ministry of Labour – an electrical-mechanical expert and an engineer – were sent to the site.
