Kirkland Lake’s Nordex Explosives has added former Dupont Canada executive Peter Bourgeois to its board of directors.

Bourgeois is a director and chairman of the board of Circa Enterprises and with Tyromer, a privately held rubber company.

From 1979 to 1985, he was responsible for the packaged explosives division at DuPont Canada during which time he oversaw the aggressive expansion of that division.

He’s previous directorships of the Hudson's Bay Company and with Galvanic Applied Sciences, plus a number of private companies engaged in the industrial and technology sectors.

Bouregois has served in operational positions with PGI-Fabrene and PGI-Difco, considered leading manufacturers of specialty engineered products and high performance industrial textiles.

In a Jan. 8 news release, Nordex chairman Jim O'Reilly was pleased to have Bourgeois aboard.

“His explosives market and related industry experiences, as well as his significant experience serving on the boards of private and public companies, are a valuable addition to the Corporation during this exciting growth stage."

Nordex Explosives is a rapidly expanding manufacturer and distributor of explosives for the mining, quarry and construction industries. Located in Kirkland Lake, the company is expanding into Western Canada.
