Kapuskasing Gold has appointed former government geologist Brian Atkinson to its advisory board.

Atkinson served as the resident geologist with the Ontario Geological Survey offices in Timmins and Red Lake.

In a Jan. 15 release, the company said Atkinson brings more than 30 years of experience and knowledge of greenstone belts, particularly the Kapuskasing Structural Zone, and has intimate knowledge of gold deposits in the Timmins belt where the company has gold targets identified on its Kapuskasing-area properties.

Kapuskasing Gold controls six gold properties located along extensions of the Destor-Porcupine, Borden Lake and Kapuskasing structural zones.
