Probe Mines Ltd. has brought on John Haflidson as a senior mining advisor to help develop its Borden Gold project near Chapleau.

Among other contributions, Haflidson has played key roles in the operation of Barrick Gold's Holt-McDermott Mine, the construction of Lakeshore Gold's Timmins West gold mine, and the environmental permitting and reactivation of Lakeshore’s Bell Creek mill and tailings pond.

"We are very pleased to have a person of John's calibre join us, bringing a high level of skill and experience in underground gold-mining operations to our team,” Yves Dessureault, Probe’s COO, said in a release. “John will contribute significantly to our development strategy and help us to achieve the aggressive timeline we are pursuing to advance the Borden Gold project."

Probe is working towards the completion of a preliminary economic assessment later this year.
