Wallbridge Mining expects to begin ore production at its Broken Hammer copper and base metals open pit in Sudbury during the first week of May.

In an April 29 news release, the company said contractors have been mobilized and construction of site facilities has begun.

The company expects to stockpile 20,000 to 25,000 tonnes of ore at the site by mid-June at which time spring load restrictions on the highway should be lifted. Then, they can begin trucking ore north to the Redstone mill in Timmins for processing. The mill feed will be 800 tonnes per day starting July 1.

William Day Construction is handling the open pit mining and transportation of ore and concentrates.

In the meantime, Wallbridge continues exploration drilling at its adjacent Wisner property which is part of its North Range Joint Venture with Lonmin Plc.
