Mining stakeholders invited to exporting seminar

Mining entrepreneurs and business owners are invited to hear presentations from representatives of the U.S. and Australia on the emerging mining trends, opportunities and challenges in those countries.

Mining entrepreneurs and business owners are invited to hear presentations from representatives of the U.S. and Australia on the emerging mining trends, opportunities and challenges in those countries.

The province’s Mining Supply and Services Export Assistance Program, in co-operation with Ontario’s North Economic Development Corp. and the province, are holding one-day seminars in Sudbury and North Bay on March 7 and 8.

In Sudbury, the event takes place March 7 at Bryston’s on the Park in Copper Cliff, while the North Bay event takes place March 8 at the Best Western Hotel & Conference Centre.

Information will be presented about the export development programs available to those servicing the northern mining supply and services sector.

Guest speakers include David Strum of Industrial Info. Resources, who will speak about current mining sector trends and worldwide projects, with a focus on underground projects in the U.S. Southwest. Corrie Germin, a senior investment manager with Brisbane Marketing, will speak about Australia’s resource sector and the opportunities that are emerging for Canadian companies.

Speakers will be available for five-minute, one-on-one sessions following the event.
