A proposed Thunder Bay waterfront hotel has been issued a building permit for structural steel.
After repeated delays in the project schedule, construction of the Marriott-Delta Hotel at Prince Arthur’s Landing is “one step closer,” said a City of Thunder Bay news release.
“We will be very pleased to see the hotel development get back underway, with completion planned for the end of next year,” said Mark Smith, general manager of the city’s development and emergency services.
The city said discussions have been ongoing with the developer, ReSolve Group, over the last year as the brand name changed from Delta to Marriott. The hotel was to have been opened last spring.
The city said all of the required documents from the developer have now been submitted and approved by the Building Services Division.
