The Ontario government said the bridge replacement will create 46 jobs. Work begins this spring with completion scheduled for the fall.

Moncrief Construction Ltd. has been awarded the $1.05-million contract to upgrade the Nungesser River Bridge near Balmertown.

Existing timber decking on the bridge, north of Highway 125, will be replaced with pre-cast concrete panels. Work begins this spring and will be completed in the fall.

The bridge is part of an important transportation link for tourist operators, private camps, and forestry companies and connects to winter roads accessing remote First Nations.
