Plans to build a four-season trail bridge across the Vermilion River near Espanola received a $62,746 boost from FedNor. The 36-metre span is necessary to reroute an Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Club trail closer to Espanola and Nairn Centre. The Vermilion-Spanish trail, which has links to the Trans Canada Trail, will attract snowmobilers, hikers, mountain bikers and horseback riders. The trail is a collaborative effort of the Town of Espanola, the Vermilion-Spanish Trails Association and local snowmobile clubs.
